Thermo’s Direct PCR – forget DNA purification
Thermos’ novel approach, Direct PCR, saves you time and cost by allowing amplification of DNA directly from the source material. Direct PCR is based on Thermos’ Phusion® High-Fidelity DNA Polymerases and Phire® Hot Start II DNA Polymerase. These unique fusion enzymes have been engineered to incorporate a double-stranded DNA binding domain that gives them extraordinary properties. Phusion and Phire DNA Polymerases are exceptionally tolerant of many PCR inhibitors present in various sample material. This allows robust amplification in conditions where conventional DNA polymerases, like Taq or Pfu, are completely inhibited.

Note that PCR from unpurified starting material may require more optimization than standard PCR reactions from purified DNA. Also, the Direct PCR approach may not be suitable for all applications.
